This FAQ is best viewed in use with the Courier font. Version 1.5 - General Updates, & Added Sowel Details. Asda Story is an Online MMORPG where you may create up to 3 Avatars. You may Choose between Male or Female, with a variety of Beginner's Equipment: Body Features (Hair Style, Hair Color, Eyes/Face, Male/Female). Equips: Shirt, Pants, Gloves, & Boots. The Beginning Equipment, is Just as Good as the Entry Level Equips that you can Buy, So Dont waste your Money on them. Plus the enemies in Alpen tend to drop better equips than the ones in the Armory store. After you've Made your Avatar, and Given it a Name, you may start the game by entering a Server, and a Channel, Channels will Load the same Area, but with Different Players. If you are getting a Laggy Screen, try using a Channel with less players, or turning off some of the effects, like the water effect, or the horizon effect. Asda Has a Unique Soulmate System, where you may Pair yourself with another Player. You may only have One Soulmate at a time, and this Soulmate will be connected to all 3 of your Avatars, not just the one; you may 'Break Up' Later if need be. The benefits are Increased Experience Points, Special Skills, And the Ability to See them as a Purple Dot on the Map. You can also send your Soulmate a msg even if they are offline, they will recieve it once they login. Breaking Up with a Soulmate will cause you to Lose those skills though, and reset your Soulmate Level, however you'll get the skills back if you get another Soulmate, and begin to gain Soulmate levels again. Besides the Soulmate System, there is Also the Party System, where you may join a Group of Players and earn Shared Exp & Gold & Quest Tasks. The Benefit is good for taking on Enemies that are Hard to Kill, or may out Level your Avatar, Plus having a Healer in your Party is Very Beneficial. This will also make Quests where you have to either Kill an amount of Enemies, or earn Items from them a lot quicker. To add Players to your Party, Right Click on their Avatar, & click Invite to Party. There are 2 Kinds of Parties: 1st is 'Whoever Picks Up First', this means that whoever picks up dropped equips first, gets to keep them, this option tends to allow for item hogging. 2nd is 'Shared', this option randomizes the destination of a picked up item, you might not always get what you want, but you could always trade with another player, or sell it for Gold at the Market. Parties are very useful and almost required for the Dungeons: Queen's Palace (Rein River) Castle of Chess (Silaris) Distored Queen's Palace (Sunny Coast) Distored Castle of Chess (Flammio) You may also go Solo, and disreguard interaction, but this route is a slow process, even if you do complete every quest that comes your way. Soon you'll start getting Quests that above your Level, so you'll want to Level a bit first, which takes time. Gameflow ---------- Navigation: To Easily Find an Area to go to, Press M (Doesnt need to be Capitolized), to bring up the Map. Yellow ! Marks - NPC's Offering a New Quest. Red ! Marks - Once you Finish the Quest, the ! will Turn Red. Green Dots - Party Members. Purple Dot - Soulmate. Experience Meter - The Green Bar with the % at the Very Bottom of the Screen, this is how much Exp. you have, once it hits 100% you will gain a level. Green Numbers - You will see these after you Turn in a Quest, or Kill a Monster, these are Experience Points, the amount you get from Monsters varies per your Lv. If you have completely outleveled a Monster then you will not get any Exp. Camera Movement - Right Click on the Area and Hold it down, you can then move the mouse to change the camera's perspective. Zoom In/Out - Requires a Mouse with a Trackwheel, Roll Forward to Zoom In, and Backwards to Zoom Out. Screen Capture - You can take a Screen Capt. by simply pressing your 'Prnt Scrn' button, the pictures will be in your Asda Game folder in your Program files. Weight - This is a Bar with a Percentage # that shows up under your MP Bar. You are Fine if the Bar is Gray, When it Turns Orange you're headed for trouble, if you Pass 70% in Weight you'll lose the ability to Regain Lost HP by resting (the bar will be red), If the bar is Flashing, it means you've gone past the 90% mark and can no longer attack or defend yourself. How to Decrease your weight - Place Items / Equipment in the Warehouse, Sell Unneeded Equipment in the Trade Market, or to an NPC Store, Give equipment to another player. Drag n' Drop Items to the Trash Can to drop them. Armor and Weapons use up a lot of weight. Battles: Checking a Monster's Level - Drag your Mouse over the Monster and Click on it Once. Attacking a Monster - Drag your Mouse over the Monster, it will turn Red, Double Click it, or click the Monster once, then click the #1 shortcut key. Your Avatar will then Start Attacking. Using Skills - First, you'll have to bring up the Skills Menu, if you do not have any skills learned then you cant use them. Once you do have one Learned the icon will change from a Gray Icon to a Colorful Icon. Click on the Skill and Drag it to your Shortcut Panel, near the Bottom Right of the screen. The Spaces will be Numbered. Passive Skills - These Do not have to be Set, they work automatically. Support Skills - These add Stat Buffs, or other bonuses, like Poison or MP Reduction. Tactics: At first when you start, you can just run up to a Field Wolf, or a Baby Parasol and just wacking the senses out of them. However as you progress Enemies will start approaching you, some along, others in groups. Try to watch an Enemy's behavior before you run into the frey. An Example are the StampEdge Watchmen. Those who just run into the Fight with them end up getting surrounded by Two or Three of them and once once goes down you still have two left, sure you might defeat all there, but then they re-spawn and come after you again. This really strains your HP. For Enemies like these I suggest you try to find One sitting by itself, draw it towards you then attack it so you dont get swarmed. Another Example is the Patrol Enemies, these come in Pairs, if One is attacked they both come towards you, so be sure that you can handle getting Attacked by one while you attack the other. The PatchCats are another Example, these Enemies try to fake you out. You walk up to them, and they act like you're not there, they begin to walk away. A few seconds later they run up to your Avatar and start whailing on you. Please note that Patch Cat also tend to swarm. You should find One that has singled itself from the rest, and fight that One, then just wait for it to Re-Spawn, as you wait for your HP to slowly regenerate. Quests: Hunting - You are Sent out to Slay a Number of Monsters. Fetch - You are Sent out to either Retrive an Item, or Materials (Materials can usually be gained by Slaying Monsters). Meet & Greet - You have to go Find another NPC and talk to them. Rewards: Quests Offer you a Good Amount of Gold and Exp. Sometimes you may get Equipment or Items as well. Monsters will Drop Several Things. Monsters Names in Colors - Green Means the Monster is good for Level Grinding, you will get Exp. from it. White Meeans, you'll get Exp. from it, but not as much, and you are close to out classing it. Gray Means you wont get any Exp from it. Orange, well I'm guessing that Orange means the Monster Outclasses you. You get a Small Amount of Exp, A Small Amount of Gold. If you're Lucky, they will Drop a Weapon or Armor. They can also Drop: Empty Warrant (Sells for 100g each) Ranked Jewel Ranked Regeant Ranked Essence Sometimes you may earn Equipment that your Avatar cannot Equip. Examples - Your Avatar is Male, but the Item is for a Female. Your Avatar is a Fighter, but the Item is for a Mage. You could Trade these items, or if you want you can sell them for Gold to an NPC. Digging: You will Start with a Shovel in your Inventory, to bring up your Inventory window Either click on the Bag Icon, or type I. Move your mouse over to the Shovel, and double click on it to start digging (You cannot dig in town). You can continiously dig in the same spot, you dont have to move to another spot if you dont get anything the first time. Note: The Shovel can also be placed as a Shortcut, usually it will start in the Shortcut that uses digit number 4. Items you can get: Sand (Sells for 1g) Return Scroll (Use to Instantly Return to Town) Revival Scroll (Revive another Player) Small HP Potion (Heals a Small Amount of HP) Medium HP Potion Large HP Potion Small MP Potion (Heals a Small Amount of MP) Medium MP Potion Large MP Potion Sowels (Varies) Quivers for Bow, Crossbow, & Ballista Gray Treasure Box (Holds 1 Item: 1000g Coin, Return Scroll) 1000g Coin (Sells for 1000g) Nimbus (You could only get a Nimbus in Gray Treasure Boxes in the beta phase, they are no longer included as a prize). Retreating from Battles: Bring up the Map, and quickly click anywhere in town, in the mean time, use a Potion to restore lost HP, if your low. Please note, Monsters will give chase and some can still attack you while you are running. For a Quick Escape, use a Return Scroll. Classes --------- Beginner / Novice : You Start as This, your Starting Weapon is a Rubber Glove, filled with air. It resembles a club. You cant buy any new weapons, but you can equip a Bow if a Monster drops one. Quivers only cost 100g. Class Change: You need to get your Avatar to Level 5, then you'll get to choose between these classes - Fighter, Mage, Archer. Each Class requires a Trial, you have to go Slay a certain Monster, -Alone-. I would Reccamend first getting up to Level 6 or 7 before Attempting. While you are fighting it, open your Inventory window and use a HP Potion when about a 3rd of your HP is lost (or place a HP potion into the shortcut panel near the bottom of the screen). This will keep you alive long enough to slay the Trial Beast. Once you have, simply return to the NPC like you would do with any other quest. Fighter: This class has 3 Weapon types you can use; Sword & Shield, Two-Handed Sword, & the Spear. Mage: Mages have a Variety of Rods and Sticks, but their Magic Varies into 3 Catagories: Offensive, Curative, and Supportive. Archer: This class has 3 Weapon types you can use; Long-Bow, Crossbow, & Ballista. (Note, Ballista will show onscreen as a Hi-Tech Rifle). Sowels -------- Sowels: Each Peice of Equipment has a certain # of Slots that you can place Sowels into, and there are varying peices of Sowels with different effects. You can Buy Sowels, or remove them from Dropped equipment. However, you cannot Sell a Sowel, unless you Place it into an Armor or Weapon first, they cannot be sold individually, except in the Exchange Market. You can also Drop them, by discarding them. Basic Sowels: Crystal of Guard (Blue) - Boosts DEF in Armor Crystal of Edge (Red) - Boosts ATK in Swords & Spears Crystal of Arrow (Orange) - Boosts ATK in Bows Crystal of Enchant (Green) - Boosts Magic ATK in Staffs Crystal of Shield (Pentagram) - Boosts Block % in Shields Option Sowels: Tiger Eye - Boosts Strength, can be used in Weapon & Gloves. Cats Eye - Boosts Dexterity, can be used in Helmet & Trousers. Dragon Eye - Boosts Stanima, Stanima increases Max HP, May be used in Vest & Boots. Horse Eye - Boosts Energy, can be used in Trousers & Gloves. Hawks Eye - Boosts Intelligance, can be used in Weapon & Boots. Gold Eye - Boosts Luck, Luck helps Drop Rate %, May be used in Helmet & Vest. Monsters Drop Sowel Boxes that usually contain better Sowels than you can buy in a Sowel Shop, sometimes it's easyer to just equip a better Sowel than a new weapon or armor. The Best place to buy Sowels is the Exchange Market, be sure to first make a note of what your current equiped sowels are capable of, so you dont accidently buy a sowel of equal or perhaps lesser capacity. Also be sure to check the Sowel's Level, as in if it's Level is higher than your Avatars, you won't be able to use it, until you reach that Lv. Other: Soul Stone - Requires that your Soulmate is online, & the Transfer Soul Skill. First your Soulmate must use Transfer Soul, then when they logout any Exp you earn while they are offline will go to them once they log back in (you must also be logged in though). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Legal Info: All trademarks and copyrights contained in this document are owned by their respective trademark and copyright holders.
